The distinguishing feature of Thai Yoga Massage lies in its approach of gently stretching and opening the body. This increases joint mobility and flexibility, therefore providing a greater range of motion. As muscular tension is slowly released, blood and energy can flow freely to the cells, tissues and organs. The lymph system is stimulated as well, which helps support the body's natural detoxification process and boost its immune response. Thai Yoga Massage generates a deep state of relaxation necessary for healing to take place.

One can compare Thai Yoga Massage to a dance, like the Argentine Tango, in which the facilitator gently leads the receiver’s body. While the breath becomes coordinated with the alternating movement and stillness, a beautiful, harmonious rhythmic motion transcends the body into relaxation. This allows the receiver to drift off into a meditative like state, being fully in the moment and becoming centered. In receiving Thai Yoga Massage, one is also receiving the benefits of the practice of yoga.

In the Lotus Palm Method, practitioners learn about yoga philosophy, including Ayurveda, and its application.
